Trains And Trails And Tales Of Love
I’ve been blessed with a few opportunities to travel in the last decade or so: Ireland and Italy among them and for a visual human like myself, the vistas quite often stole my breath. Each time though as we made our way back to Midwestern Ontario, senses heightened, we took note of just how incredibly beautiful our part of the world is and how lucky we are to live here.
Last Friday I hiked through some of that beauty, 10k on the G2G Trail from McGaw Station and ending at Main Beach in Goderich. What took me SO long to do this?! It was a beautiful few hours of nature, colour, reflection, daydreaming … and surprisingly, running into several old friends and acquaintances.
My thanks to Hayley Linfield for connecting with me a few weeks ago to discuss her new book, “Rail Ties: A Story of Love”. It’s a collection of stories and moments captured on the G2G and will raise funds to keep the trail alive.
