16/65 – Goderich Celtic Roots Festival And College 2023

I’m not sure there’s much I can say here that I haven’t said before. This is one of my favourite events of …ever. The people, the music, the location … all makes it feel like home.

This week we’re honoured to have the artistic director of Goderich Celtic Roots Festival, and our friend Cheryl Prashker in the studio. We are excited to get to know a little bit more about her … When did you know you had to have a career in music? How did you end up in Goderich after travelling the world with so many amazing musicians? What can we look forward too at the 2023 festival?

For a photoblog this week, I’m digging once more through my scrapbook for a few shots of the past 10 years or so to share with you. I have upwards of 5 thousand pictures so I’m sure I missed a few favourites while searching for images to share but I hope you get an idea of the joy and sense of family this event has for me.

We want to do a special shoutout to all the volunteers who make the festival happen. They are committed, tireless and so in love with this festival. There’s never been better than greg reynold who we sadly lost this year. The outpouring of love and family at his Celebration of Life this past weekend was very much what the festival is all about … family and gathering to celebrate music, life and love together. Greg was THE guy who kept things together in so many ways for so many years and he will be missed. We want dedicate our podcast and photoblog this week to his memory.
