39/65 – Fincher’s

It’s been there my entire life and and has evolved over the years from a “smoke shop” at one point to a place for books and gifts. As a kid, I used to buy plastic car and airplane model kits there. It was one of my favourite stores in town largely for that reason.

Family run for more than 6 decades it’s Fincher’s on the Square in Goderich.

I love this conversation with Tom Fincher. As you might expect, there’s a LOT more to it and I learned some really cool things that I did not know about the history of the business, how it started, their love of their staff, toys, games and books that went “viral” long before we used that word to describe things that got popular fast!

There’s still something almost ….comforting(?) maybe when I’m driving around the Square and I see the Fincher’s sign … It’s just a cool part of home for me and one of the places that makes life good.
