44. Read Any Good Books Lately?
I spent a stormy Sunday this week with a great book.
This is a difficult time of year for a lot of us. We get the January/February blahs. We’re a little sun deprived, we spend more time indoors … blech.
To add to the mayhem, Milli and I recently set our sights on trying to manage our screen addictions, which is especially difficult when we’re not quite as active as we are when the weather is better. One of the ways we’re trying to offset the winter blahs and the “doom scrolling” is to replace our screens with books (remember books?) and to exercise our imaginations and maybe even learn a little more about life by getting lost in a good story.
Midwestern Ontario is home to a lot of great authors and today on the pod we’re going to talk to two of those people:
I’ve known Sally Walker since I was a teenager. She has accomplished much in her life including the recent realization of a lifelong dream to write a novel. The book is called “101″ and she explains why in the podcast.
Also joining us is a former corporate executive-turned-keynote speaker, workplace wellness advocate and now author, Shannon Talbot. We think “Breaking Free: Stop Holding Back, Start Being You: Your Guide to Creating the Career & Life of Your Dreams” will really inspire you!
The dreams, the work, the joy of writing in episode 44.
Check Fincher’s in Goderich for a copy of both Sally and Shannon’s books.
