Nine ~ #RunPhilRun
When my daughters were still in public school, I went to pick them up one afternoon and ran into another dad who I’d met briefly a few weeks earlier. Like me, he was there to pick up his kids. As fate would have it, our daughters were all playing together in the school yard at Wingham Public. In those moments a steadfast friendship, now in it’s 20th year, began between our families.
I think I can speak for my best buddy Shaun when I say that we’re both immensely proud of all our kids. They are amazing, kind, bighearted and talented people.
The youngest of those children has grown up to become a teacher, a talented children’s book illustrator and artist.
Becca is as kindhearted and loving as she is gifted. I approached her initially with the idea of doing some art work for our #RunPhilRun campaign and said there was no big rush and I would give her lots of notice … only to come back several weeks later with a desperate plea when my team said “Okay, we’re ready for art work!” She came through of course and I’m so grateful for her contribution to our cause. My heartfelt thanks to “the cutest one” for sharing the dream and being part of our team.

In the training department, March is here, and I’ve felt the need to take my running outside a bit more. I had a fun run in the sun (and the snow) last week. It’s hard to say no when your shadow is willing to run along side you!
We will be sharing more in the very near future about some planned events and how you can join us in the battle against mental illness. For now, thank you again for your continued love, support and encouragement.
